Keeping High Desert Safe

The security and safety of each resident’s home, person, and property are critical elements in the quality of life that we enjoy in High Desert. Although we are blessed with one of the lowest crime rates in the Albuquerque area, that status can only be maintained through the constant awareness and vigilance of our citizens and the willingness of all residents to become involved in looking out for the well-being of their neighbors.

Please use the buttons to the left to access various security-related topics, including information on: The High Desert Crime Prevention Committee, Patrol activity reports for current and prior years, important internal and external safety contacts, and special initiatives designed to make High Desert a better and safer community for all of us.

Guardsmark Contact Telephone Numbers:

In a non-emergency which requires APD assistance:

For other urgent, but non-emergency situations:

call the Guardsmark Courtesy Patrol at 362-2314

For routine calls:
--Such as notifying Guardsmark of vacation dates, etc.--

HOAMCO Maintenance Emergency After-Hours Number
A new emergency maintenance telephone number is in effect specifically for High Desert residents calling HOAMCO after regular business hours. The new number is: (505) 508-9568.

Residents calling the regular High Desert office at 505-314-5862 after regular business hours will hear a voicemail message that says "If this is an after-hours High Desert maintenance emergency, please call 505-508-9568."

Once residents call the new number (508-9568) the voice mail states that the caller has reached an emergency cell number and directs the caller to a pager number if there is no return call after 30 minutes.

Dave Janik, Community Association Manager, will answer the emergency number.  However, he emphasized that the new number should be used only for maintenance emergencies that absolutely cannot wait until regular business hours.

For other urgent or emergency situations not pertaining to maintenance issues, residents should use the emergency contact procedures outlined above.
